THE RULES FOR DRONE
RECOVERY IN OKLAHOMA.

Oklahoma's Wildlife Conservation Commission adopted new rules for using drones to scout and recover wildlife. We follow every one of them on every call. Here's what they mean for you.

01 PRIVATE PROPERTY ONLY

Drones may be used to scout or recover wounded wildlife on private property. No drone can take off from, fly over or land on land the Wildlife Department owns or manages, including WMAs.

03 EVERY FLIGHT IS RECORDED

Each search flight is recorded, as the rules require.

05 IF HE'S STILL ALIVE

The drone lands immediately, the game warden is notified, and hunting in that area can't resume for at least 4 hours.

02 WE NOTIFY THE GAME WARDEN

The local game warden has to be notified before and after every recovery search. That's why we ask for the county and the hunter's full name when you call.

04 NO HUNTING THAT AREA THAT DAY

Hunting is not allowed in the same area on the same day the drone is used. Plan your hunt around that before you call.

06 NO HARASSING WILDLIFE

It's illegal to use a drone to harass wildlife or interfere with lawful hunting, fishing or trapping. We fly to find your animal, not to push it.
